One of the most famous queens and politics of England, the woman has made for this country more than anyone else. It is called “Queen – a virgin.” I do not know exactly, did not hold a candle, but the child she really was not. The period of this woman called the “golden age”. Childhood its light can not be named. She was born Sept. 7, 1533 in the palace of Greenwich. The daughter of King Henry VIII and his second wife Anne Boleyn. She was born in troubled times. King Henry broke with the pope, who did not recognize his divorce from first wife Katharine of Aragon, a Spanish princess. She was unable to give England an heir, a daughter, Mary. This is why Henry took a second wife, Anna. But when they had a daughter Elizabeth, daughter – and not the son, who was waiting for the king – the marriage collapsed. After three years, Anna was accused of treason and adultery, and the acquiescence of Henry executed. He also put pressure on parliament and forced him to issue a decree acknowledging marriage to Anne Boleyn valid. This made Elizabeth illegitimate daughter, bastard. The girl was sent to Hatfield.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth’s father re-married one of the court ladies in waiting Jane Seymour. She gave him a son Edward. For a long time Jane tried to try it with her daughter, which he denied. However, Henry was named Elizabeth fruit of the “traitor Anna” and still see it would not. Jane died young. And Henry married again. The marriage of Mary and Philip was determinacy and Elizabeth returned to her modest residence of Hatfield House. There she was young and beautiful maid of honor began to attract the aristocracy. Even the King Philip was gracious to Elizabeth, she liked him far more than his 40-year-old wife, Maria. Maria, meanwhile, fell seriously ill. She knew she was dying, and the board insisted that his successor is formally appointed his sister. However, Mary struggled with this decision. Only under the influence of Philip, it all still yielded. The Queen died on November 17, 1558. In the story she came in as “Bloody Mary” for their atrocities against Protestants.

Senator Edward “Ted” Kennedy’s death is being met today with showers of praise from the media and his fellow politicians. But I’d just like to put things in perspective. Senator Kennedy was no angel and associating him with principle may be a far-flung stretch.
Kennedy, one of the longest running senators in American history, died at the age of 77 after a 15-month fight with brain cancer. Kennedy had a career in public service like his siblings.
He was in the United States Senate for 47 years and known as as one of the most effective and hardworking congressmen in Washington. He was a zealous congressman that wasn’t afraid to reach across party lines in order to get things done.
During his years in office, he wrote 2,500 bills, nevertheless only a fraction of them were passed. As a senator, he served as a major force for social legislation. He was a promoter for health care, immigration, civil rights, education, and more. He has been judged as one of the most skilled members in the history of the Senate and a subject of passionate interest for students of political science.
Now that all the nice things were said, we can really discuss Ted Kennedy. He was successful due mostly to the sway and power his family held. With the Kennedys’ rise to influence, many Americans came to think of the Kennedys as a visionary King Arthur over a modern-day Camelot which ultimately makes Ted, as the patriarch of the Kennedys, the king. What a crock!
Here are the facts, which paint a clear picture of his contentious history. He managed to get in trouble, but always seemed to come out on top because of the clout his family had. In his early days, Ted was expelled from Harvard for dishonesty. He only got back into the school years later because his daddy pulled some strings and gave some incentives to the “top dogs” at Harvard.
However, this is not where controversy ended for Teddy.
In 1969, he was involved in an accident famously known as Chappaquiddick. Kennedy had a few drinks and had driven off a bridge. The young lady with him, a former aide to his brother and his alleged lover, died in the wreck. Kennedy managed to stumble from the car and get to safety, leaving the young woman either dead or dying in the car, and save himself, but he did not seek help from the authorities for 9 hours. Are you freaking kidding me?
It sounds like he was worried about his career, his marriage, and only came forward because he knew that eventually people would find out and he would really be in trouble. Plus if he came forward, he would be able to give some excuses why he didn’t report the episode, and inoculate the American people so his political career could be salvaged. Ted was a real gentleman that never believed or acted like he was above the law- or quit planning for his future.
Americans knew that Teddy had deep pockets along with being a playboy and a heavy drinker. He didn’t win the Democratic primary in the 1980 presidential election because the American people remembered the skeletons in his closet and didn’t want the Kennedy family money and clout again in the presidency. Despite how tragic the circumstances were, one Kennedy as president was enough. Even the Democrats had to admit that Kennedy’s lack of morals or judgment would kill their chances at the White House.
After the accident, his life started to decline. In 1982, Kennedy and his wife divorced, and, by the time 1984 rolled around, Teddy knew that his chance to follow his brother into the presidency had died. Plus, he was probably anxious about whether he would be killed just like his brothers. So he decided to put his energies into the only thing he had left, his career as a senator.
Because of the efforts of his two older brothers, Ted was able to get on the fast track in politics. Although his notorious background did hamper his bid for the White House, it didn’t seem to be an issue for the constituents he was representing in Massachusetts.
Years after his death, Sen. Kennedy will remain a subject of curiosity for political pundits and political science students alike in both his successes and his undeniable flaws.
