Haitians are fleeing their quake-ravaged capital by the hundreds of thousands, as government officials vow to move them from squalid conditions into safer, cleaner tent cities. Aid officials said more than 130000 Haitians have crammed into buses, provided by the government, to escape the shattered capital Port-au-Prince. An initial trickle of refugees has fast become a flood. More Haitians are fleeing the capital now that at any time in the last week, fearful of another quake and scared of what the future might bring. A fortunate few have somewhere to flee to, but the majority of refugees have to face a reality of having no job, no house and no prospects.
