Two Useful Gadgets For Car Owners

Cars are the amongst the most popular forms of user-led transportation on Earth, with millions being sold, bought and leased every year in the United Kingdom alone. It’s not just cars themselves either, we have magazines, TV shows, websites, blogs and radio shows dedicated to discussing the myriad of issues around cars, car safety, driving, etc.

It’s no surprise then that there’s also a plethora of gadgets focused at car owners, ranging from the sublime to the stupid. So to help you navigate your way through the maze of gadgets available, here’s what I would argue are two of the best gadgets available on the current market.

The first gadget on the list is the Digital Alcohol Breath tester, which is a portable breathe tester designed to tell you if you’re over the limit. Considering the damage done by drink-driving, this appears to be an excellent gadget for anyone who drives and isn’t a non-drinker. The Tester is extremely simple to operate; you just blow over the sensor, and after 3-5 seconds the gadget will tell you if you’re too drunk to drive. This little gizmo is especially handy if you have a young male driver in your family. Young men are considered to be one of the likeliest groups to offend, so this would appear to be one of the best gifts for him.

The next one’s a little bit more on the fun side, and could perhaps be considered more in the toys section that the most useful of gadgets. The LED Car Sign, retailing at around £24.99, is a great bit of fun for any family car or young driver. It allows you to communicate quickly and easily with other road users. The LED sign is fitted to the back window of your car, while the wireless remote sits up with the driver. The LED sign comes with five pre-determined messages, which are ‘Thanks’, ‘Sorry’, ‘Back Off’ and you also get a smiling face and a winking face. It may well seem like a slightly pointless gadget, but actually it’s quite good fun and is so light hearted it could genuinely diffuse a small percentage of potential road rage incidents.

Gadgets And Gizmos For Your Holiday

Going on holiday can be extremely good fun and generally we all look forward to our yearly holiday, whether it’s in the UK or abroad. However holidaying can also be a stressful experience, depending on how prepared you are for the unexpected.

Getting charged unexpectedly, lost luggage, not being able to use the electricity, theft, etc. can all have a hugely negative impact should they happen to you while on holiday.
Luckily though, there are many gadgets available to you online that can hugely decrease the likelihood of these types of issues bothering you.

First on the list is an extremely useful little toy, the Trace Me Luggage Tag. According to recent statistics, between 35 and 40 million pieces of luggage we lost worldwide in the last year alone. The Trace Me Tracker tag contains a unique barcode and serial number, and are easily attached to any make of suitcase. Should your luggage get lost, the staff at whichever airport it’s found at can scan the barcode, or input the serial number to the Immobile website, which will tell them who the luggage belongs to. You’ll also get a text and/or email telling you where your bag is, so that you can inform the appropriate airport.

The next gadget we’re going to look at is the Ergo Digital Luggage Scale, which (as you’ve might have figured out) allows you to weigh your baggage before you set off. This allows you to prevent any expensive excess baggage charges when you get to the airport. It’s not only easy to use and extremely portable, but at only £19.99 from most online retailers, it could pay for itself within one trip. Just ensure you pack it when you leave the country, you’ll probably want to use it on the way back! Perfect if you’re trying to find gifts for men that don’t like to spend money basically a fantastic way of keeping dad happy!

The last helpful little gadget on the list is the Travel Adaptor, available online for around £16.99. You’ve more than likely already used a similar sort of adaptor in the past, but it’s unlikely you’ll have used on as versatile and (forgive the pun) adaptable as this. The adaptor lets you plug in to any power socket in the UK, US or EU. It even has a dedicated USB port, which will let you power USB (and USB 2.0) wherever you happen to be. Not only will you be able to fully power all your USB devices, but you’ll be ensuring the protection of all your gizmos and toys should you experience a power surge or similar.
