Orchids look beautiful when they are in full bloom, but after the flowering is over it is easy for them to become ignored. Before you place the orchid in a corner, check to see if it needs to be repotted. You will not have to repot the plant every year, but only if it is over grown or when the flower looks sad.
When you are thinking of placing your plant in a new pot, make sure you do not repot it while it is flowering. If your orchid is ready for the move, remove it from the pot. If it is not crowded and only needs to be repotted, then remove all of the old potting mixture and cut off any dead roots. Rinsing the roots off may also help remove any moss off of the roots. Make sure to sterilize the knife with heat or alcohol before cutting the roots.
When you remove the orchid plant that has roots growing out of the pot you will need a sharp knife and a little bit of force. You might need to cut the pot to remove the orchid out.
You can break the orchid plant up into smaller orchid plants, but the smaller the plant the longer it will take to produce flowers. This is important to know if you are Growing Orchids. It is often a good idea to only split the plant in two.
Orchids do not use regular potting soil. Instead get a potting mix that is made for orchids. The mix is made up of large pieces that will help the plant to drain and air easier. There are additional things you can add, like vermiculite, that will help maintain moisture that is helpful for stressed orchid plants.
When picking a pot be sure to pick one that allows for proper drainage. Terra cotta pots allow the necessary drainage and are a wise choice for orchid plants.
Once you put the plant in the pot, mix a good orchid fertilizer like seaweed tonic in with the water to entice the roots to grow. Water the orchid plant generously including the leaves and then feed your plant with organic dynamic lifter pellets. They are gentle on the plant and are really popular with many orchid enthusiasts.
If your orchid plant is distressed you want the nutrients to go to the plant so you will want to cut the spike above the first nodule. If the orchid is really stressed, you will want to cut the spike off to help the plant to get its beauty back.
Place the orchid plant in the shade. Orchids do not do well in direct sunlight. Around March you can put your orchid in a spot with slightly more sun to help it get ready to bloom. If you have a snail problem, place some snail pellets in the pot also to keep snails out.

Rose
A flower given to the god of love Eros by the goddess of love Aphrodite, roses are known to convey various sentiments which would depend on the colors, but the famous ones are:-
Red – are used to reflect deep emotions such as respect, admiration, devotion and many more.
White – symbolize purity, innocence. White roses are also used to convey sympathy.
Yellow – are used as a symbol of friendship, caring. Unlike other roses, yellow roses do not symbolize deep emotions such as love or romance, it indicates a purely platonic emotion.
Tulip
originally found in the heart of Persia, Tulips were known to be rather costly due to them being so rare, however now that is a thing of the past as tulips can now be grown in your own back yard. Tulips are a symbol of The Perfect Lover.
With everything changing at such a rapid pace even the language and meaning of flowers has evolved through the years. Now you can use flowers to tell your story.
